This postcard of Market Street looking East is post marked Sept 29, 1917 and was sent from one Nellie Wakefield to Gary La Pelle of Long Lake, NY. Nellie writes, in part: "What do you think of this street? All the lower floors of the blocks are stores." The banner in the background, probably hung from the Arlington Hotel to 1 Market St. advertises an event being held "to night."
